The outbreak has begun. The remaining crew is testing to try and find a cure. Can they do it in time? Or is hope all lost? They are holed up in their facility and the others are in the other facilities and because of the loss of connection and power due to the power plants shutting down. Their goal is to get to their crew, but everything is being over-run, so they are working on a cure meanwhile they wait for it to calm down using their solar panels for emergency energy. There are people that have volunteered to be tested on. Some survivors were brought in. Some were found to be already infected, so they are keeping them in a safe area so when they turn, they won't cause havoc. Those turned people will be tested to see what traits they have and if they retain their memories and/or are still conscious.
