What's your kintype(s), linktype(s) and/or hearttype(s)? I am a wolf therian, selkie and aerialus* otherkin, as well as cathearted and a crow cambitherian. 2. What do you go by and what are your pronouns? I go by Hawthorn and my pronouns are he/they/she (in order of preference.) 3. How long have you known you were alterhuman? I discovered the term about eight months ago, but I’ve thought I had a wolf past life for about 4 years. 4. Do you do any activities because of your alterhumanity? Yes! I do quadrobics a lot and I try to meditate sometimes. 5. Do you experience shifts? If so, what's your most common? If not, do you wish you did? Yes! My most common are probably wolf ears and large wings. 6. If you have multiple kintypes, linktypes, or hearttypes, what's your main one? (If you have a main). My main one is my wolf theriotype. 7. Do you experience species dysphoria? Yes :( I want my wings back. I want to run like a wolf. I want to swim as though I am the water itself. Now I’m human. Urgh. 8. Are you LGBTQ+? Yes. I’m trigender and omni. 9. Does your alterhumanity affect your gender in any way? I don’t think so. 10. Are you out to anyone as alterhuman IRL? No ;v; 11. Do you have gear? If so, what is it? (Reminder, you don't need gear to be alterhuman) I have lots! Mostly wolf stuff. I have wolf ears, a wolf coat, a wolf mask, and a wolf tail. I also have other masks, including a dragon skull one I use to give myself phantom horns. 12. Have you ever been made fun of or bullied for being alterhuman (online or IRL)? Not directly. I’ve seen people judging alterhumans, but I have YET to be directly bullied. 13. Who's your favorite alterhuman influencer? PhenicFox on yt 14. What's your favorite alterhuman comfort song? (If you have one) Milk Carton by Madelyn Mei, Nature Child by Autumn J and Sweet Tooth by Cavetown. 15. Have you ever shifted in an unfortunate situation, place or time? (If you shift) Not mental shifted. 16. Do you consider any of your kintypes, linktypes, or hearttypes to be uncommon? Yes! Especially my aerialus kintype. See Notes and Credits. 17. What's your theory behind your kintype(s), linktype(s), and/or hearttypes(s)? My aerialus and wolf were both past lives. I’m unsure on the selkie. I mentioned I’m a cambitherian crow, meaning I sort of “switch” between crowhearted and a crow therian, but when I feel more therianlike, I’m a psychological therian. I kind of feel like my brain is a crow, like there’s a corvid in my skull controlling me where my brain should be. 18. Were you born alterhuman? Yes. 19. Do you think your kintype(s), linktype(s), and/or hearttype(s) are set in stone, or that there's a possibility they might change over time (or that you could be wrong about them)? I’m a little unsure on the selkie. If I were saying I was a crow therian, I’d be unsure, but I’m settled on cambitherian after claiming crowhearted for a long time. 20. Are you currently questioning any kintypes, linktypes, or heartypes? Yes! I’m wondering if I’m possibly bearhearted or maybe bear cambitherian. 21. What time of day do you have the most shifts, species dysphoria, or urges? It varies. I get most of my shifts around noon, and more urges right when I wake up or late at night. (There’s my wolf side kicking in :) ) 22. What was the strangest shift or urge you've ever had? The urge to bite small trees. You know, the thin kind, the ones that are about the thickness of your forearm or thinner. 23. Would you become your kintype or linktype if you could? (If you are only animalhearted/otherhearted, and don't have a kin/linktype, then would you become or live with your hearttype if you could?) I would love that! I actually had an idea of what if there were selkie sealskins in real life, but for every animal? Then I could go between being a crow and a wolf and maybe trying out a bear. Except for the “stuck for seven years” part. I don’t think I’d mind, actually. 24. What's your opinion on H U M A N S??? There are good ones and there are bad ones. Poachers? Bad. Animal abus3rs? Bad. Discriminators? Bad. (Like, for LGBTQ and people of color and all that.) But then there are rescuers and shelter workers and veterinarians, and supporters and kind people willing to help. I wish that the scale tipped a little more towards the kind people, though. I wish there were more of them. 25. Did you enjoy these questions / Should I make a pt 2? Yes and yes :)
*one of my kintypes is what I call an aerialus. It doesn’t match anything that’s in “real” mythology. Other people say they have had similar experiences of having to name their own kintypes. Aerialuses are humanoid with horns on top of their heads and large wings attached to their shoulder blades, possibly with a lizardlike tail.
