Remember? To watch out for the intruder?” “Yes, of course, it completely slipped my mind! Now. I should just go since you have everything under control.” As the cat tried to make her escape, Sandyshores grabbed her by one of her tails. “HEY, LET ME GO YOU SON OF AN ADDER” she hissed, shuffling her paws once more. “First of all,” Sandyshores began, “I know that it didn’t slip your mind. Second of all, you really think you could hide a paw injury when you’re limping and constantly hiding your legs from me? And third, you’re going to tell me what happened, and you’re not going to lie.” “Ok, fine. But just… just let go of my tail.” She groaned. Sandyshores slowly released the pressure on her tail, scanning her for any signs of movement for an escape attempt. “There. Now. What happened?” Salemstar took a moment to breathe, then answered “I simply had some duties to do, and I scratched myself with the long brambles around the Nursery. There, now, are you happy?” “I know that’s not the truth, Salem.” Sandyshores pressed. “Well, it is. Sorry it’s not super exiting.” “Seriously, stop lying” “Well maybe if you didn’t think everything was a huge quest of prophecy, you would realize I’m telling the truth. Oh wait, you can’t. It’s always prophecies and grand adventures with you.” Sandyshore’s fur stood on end. “Don’t change the subject.” “Why should I?” Salemstar challenged. There was no way she would let them take her responsibilities. There was an extended silence between the two. “Come on.” Sandyshores said, braking the ice. “Let’s get that leg all healed up.” Salemstar felt her pain evaporate from her as the warm spring water reached her wound. /thank goodness…/ she thought silently. Sandyshores stood beside her, watching their surroundings carefully. “Sorry I snapped at you..” Salemstar muttered. “It’s alright” Sandyshores responded, care in their voice. “Why is it alright to you? You should be mad at me! Aren’t you?” “Absolutely not!” Sandyshores span around, gazing apon Salemstar with wide, loving eyes. “You’re my sister, Salemstar, and I love you! Love always wins over anger, at least for me. Now, don’t you dare apologize again. You understand?” “I guess so” Salemstar replied, relief washing over her. “I love you too.” Suddenly, a brown and white she-cat bursted through the bushes, panting quickly. “Salemstar! S-Sandyshores!” The cat yelled. She quickly raced over to the siblings, collapsing at their feet. “What is it, Whitepaw?” Salemstar asked, fur bristled and stressed. “The intruder!
