Hello there >:3 I’m goin’ to talk/rant about what I think of the Winter turning graphic novel. First, I just want to address, I don’t mean to hurt anyone who worked on this book, or hurt the feelings of those who enjoyed it more than I did, and overall, I don’t mean to be rude or hurtful at all Thanks :) So my cons: 1. In moon rising I started noticing… well, tweaks in character designes. A horn here and there, and eye every now and then, and all that stuff. But as I progressed into the book, suddenly all the characters looked *completely* different. Kinkajous face is suddenly a completely different structure, clays snout is curved in, and peril has a wider forehead! And then, after a while I went on to winter turning, and guess what? It got even *worse*! What. The. Heck. Happened. To. The. Characters!? Suddenly all of them look *completely* different! Especially Deathbringer! In All the other GN’s, (and in the novels) he is described to have “dark blue-ish scales and dark blue eyes, and a short, rounded snout” in Winter turning, he is a skinny, pitch black, purple eyed, long, pointy shouted dragon! What the heck happened? Suddenly all the Rainwings snouts are seven times shorter and Glory’s face is so short, and tiny! And everyone randomly started to have the largest necks possible and the teeniest heads! I’m pretty disappointed about this. 2. I feel like ever since the end of the brightest night, drawings, speech bubbles, edits, started get lower quality. Like a lot of lower quality. I feel like if they spent all that time completely re-designing the charchters, they should have time for edits, and coloring in things, and drawing lines were they are supposed to be 3. Not really a con, I’m just saying that even before the GN, winter turning was always my least favorite book, so not really a con On to pros! 1. The expressions really blow me away! They *really* captured the shock in winters face, or the pain in icicles eyes, or the hope in moons face 2. One word. Foeslayer!! I was so excited to see her design, and honestly, I love it! They put a really intense green in her design, which I *really* like because it brings a pop to her other black scales and a new color to the pallet of Nightwing scales! 3. Snowfall & Lynxes designes I was so SO exited to see Snowfall & Lynx! And their designes turned out really well in my opinion! I know Lynx only shows up in like, three panels but you can really tell it’s Lynx! The first thing I said when I saw the dark purple scales with blue freckles was “Ha! That’s Lynx!” And for snowfall, I LOVE the color pallet for her eyes! So pretty! 4. Icewing palace So much prettier than I thought it would be! The Diamond shapes, and the abstract angles, it’s truly an artists palace! Over all in a 10 stars rating, I’d give this a 7/10 I had less cons than pros, but just how large the scale (haha get it?) of character re-design outweighs most of the pros Feel free to type your opinions in the chat!
