This is a puzzle game about deciphering a foreign language using nothing but context and your own wits! Also PLEASE <3 and Star! It lets me know that you enjoyed! Use *WASD* / *Arrow Keys* to move Use *E* to interact Hold *Spacebar* to highlight interactable objects in the current room Recorded glyphs are sent to your journal where you can ascribe their meaning, and hovering over any glyph makes them state your current guess. After reaching certain points in progression, you will unlock a sketchbook where you can tie certain glyphs to ideas/phenomenon, and on completion, these glyphs will have their guess updated to match their true meaning. Additionally, some items can be obtained throughout the world which you can store in your inventory. When your inventory is open, click on an item to select it, and then click on whatever you want to use the item on. (Some people might appreciate it if you gave them something they want!)
Movement is "inspired" by (almost entirely ripped from) @dcanorth 's top down collision project found here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/689730392 (Thank you so much, you deserve the credit.) Gameplay is **heavily** inspired by a game named Chants of Sennaar by Rundisc. Please check it out, it is so much better than this. All ideas for this project were brought about in the making of my D&D campaign, so I thank my friends for inspiring me to make this world and Echoes of the Ancients. And finally, (I know this is long) thank you for giving this some of your time! This is my first ever serious scratch project and I've just started learning in fall of 2023. P.S. This game has meant a lot to me. It is no longer my main priority and though it has been fun I am closing this chapter of my game dev experience with this game. This game has taught me a lot, and I'm glad that you all could experience it. This will be the game's final state, barring any bug fixes.
