the 2nd first locomotives the mine purchased, for higher speed freight services (even tho these are PASSENGER UNITS) numbered 30A-50A, 30B-50B QDMR had a tradition of putting an E9A in front of 2 switchers as: 1. they couldnt put all e9's on all trains 2. it was believed that the streamlined front would increase aerodynamics, and in turn increase speeds and be more fuel efficient unfortunately all are either scrapped or in storage with the exception of 39A and 40B which were reported missing
