This is my entry for Candle! Ik it’s not amazing, but I did my best! I’m actually pretty proud of this, bcos I think it came out pretty well and I didn’t even know I could draw animals like this beforehand!
Backstory: Candle was just a cub when her life was flipped upside down. She just a normal, small wolf pup, playing with her two friends in the pack, River and Lana. Her name was not even Candle then: it was Meadow. She had a normal grey pelt, and nothing about her seemed particularly out of the ordinary. However, unbeknown to her, the galaxy was falling apart. The ultimate alphas were desperate to fix their mistakes, and after much frantic searching found the pup who would save the universe. They summoned her, and she trotted up to them, her only concern whether she would be late for the weekly hunt. She walked out with too much on her shoulders, too much information just a small pup should have. She was never the same after that day, for that day she had learnt all their knowledge of the universe, the love and hate, the peace and war. And they told her that, once she reached the age of 14, the fate of it all would rely on her, for on that day, she would take a new form. She remembered that day eternally, and she began to play less with River and Lana, and spend more time worrying about what would happen on her fourteenth birthday. Then, the day came, and on that day Meadow died. She died, and Candle was born; beautiful, elegant, knowledgeable. Full of wisdom, she ended the conflict in the galaxy and became an alpha. She took the pain of the world and she bears it. She can no longer play with her old packmates as she is always busy at an alpha meeting or resolving a problem. She can no longer see her family because she has outlived them all. Some may find her way of life lonely, but she has accepted it and now sees the bright side; whenever she fixes and issue, she sees joy. The laughter as friends see the funny side of a misunderstanding; the warmth of family reunited; the happiness of finding a long-lost treasure: she sees all that and more. But she will never be Meadow again.
