⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕JUST ME⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕ ”Danielle? Danielle? DANIELLE!?” “Yes? What? When? 1686?” I blurt sitting up straight trying to remember what the lesson was about not what the trees looked like two months ago. “Danielle would you care to join us all in the wonderful land of math!” my teacher snaps as the class laughs on “Sorry” I mumble “So Danielle could you please answer my question.” “Um, what was the question again?” I ask “Detention” she yells “But but but...” “Silence” My finger taps quickly on my desk and I feel like crying. My teacher is so unfair, she could have asked the question again so could have had a chance at answering I know I suck at math but that’s not the point, she could have been kinder so I could think properly, she could have… “Bang bang bang” I flinch away from the noise, making my chair tip backwards. My head smacks into the desk behind me “Oww” I moan sitting up and rubbing the back of my head “Foolish child, i was just trying get your attention” Miss Parkingsons huffs pulling me up “Go to the nurse at once” I sigh and stumble out of the room. “Well you’ve got a bump but you don’t have a concussion, so you can stay until school ends, off you pop.” The old nurse assures me As I walk out of the office the bell rings and I slap my hands over my ears, and noisy children flood out of doors when the bell stops ringing and I can think a thought hits me it’s art now the one class I care about. With my hands still over my ears I run. After what seems like forever I run into the art classroom. “Danielle!” Mr Trek laughs “Must you rush everywhere?” “Yes. I must, or I would be late.” I say bluntly sitting down and starting to paint. As soon as my paintbrush touches the paper all my worries leave me, I can daydream all I like and they will show in my painting, I can do what I like, paint what I want and I won’t get yelled at. I can be just me!
