First time doing this, and honestly I had so much fun looking at this. Omg this improvement is actually crazy :00 January - This thumbnail for @OrbitAnimate's MAP featuring @Storm-Blazes' character was the only example I could find for January. It highlights my early 2023 eye style (which was jussst hideous) and bad shading :D. So glad I grew out of that. February - Again, the only example I could find was a MAP part for a @TinyTansy MAP. Here I actually tried to draw a cat 3/4 view. It turned out fiiiine. Not my best MAP part but 2023 got off to a slow start. March - This is Lakestorm, @VenusWolfeMF's character that I drew for their panel redraw competition. I particularly liked the scene with Lakestorm and Coralstone. I felt the lighting was just really good for my art back then. But we're back to ridiculously giant eyes :') April - For April I found my best art piece, which was a Firestar Graystripe AU for @smbadger's Warrior Cats Au competition. The shading was a little rough, and I clearly didn't have much experience yet, but that was the piece in which I started giving my characters "eyebrow things" xD May - Wow, actually still one of my favorite TNE's I've ever made for a MAP. I made this TNE for @catlover373's pallett MAP Dizzy Dizzy, and though I didn't win, I still got runner up, which I was super happy about. I think I really nailed the lighting and shading in this one, and besides the weird anatomy, it's still one of my favorites. June - From my vent piece (unfortunately), I still think in particular this one frame shading was done really well. I used red instead of black for shading this time, and using any color but black to shade has really made my art pop. July - Oh boy. For @Kingsdee's (Rip dee. Got banned, which sucks) DTA, which I speedrun a full on animation and a story IN ONE DAY, and still didn't win. Though still congrats to the winner. Anyways, this animation had one of my best backgrounds to date, the bonsai tree background. Lighting and shading in that whole piece was just so good. Maybe even worth getting sick over the days following. Congrats to @eeveecake anyway :) August - Art Fiiiight was over, and I had compiled all my attacks. This particular one is for the WoF utuber, Cyprus! Gosh the lighting is just SO GOOD. Probably top 5 in my book of art pieces, if not 1st :) September - School started at this point, and I didn't make much art, so I decided to go with my sketchy, badly lighted, made on the crummy google canvas dog. No words, except I didn't have much of an option, and also google canvas hates artists :/ October - Was the beginning of the @lagonish DTA grind. Thus is this really cute Picture of Fall and Sunny running together. The lighting was top notch, and I did literally nothing else but work on my DTAE. Still itchin' for the results! November - Yes, another piece of DTAE art. But please, NOTHING is cuter than Fall with a lil white-throated sparrow. Shading, yes, Background, yes, Birb, yes. All is yes and you can't change my mind. December - Alas, the month we've been waiting for. My final piece was my main sona, Jay posing for a Happy Holiday card :D. I definitely had figured out shading and lighting and backgrounds by this point, so I think I achieved all my goals this year ^^ Overall I've had a great 2023 Art journey, and I hope to continue well into and past 2024.
