If the game gets too intense, you can press R to get rid of the barrels and reset the difficulty to 0%. Try the remix tree: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/733338490/remixtree Those pesky barrels are back with a medieval twist against the crenellated stone wall of a castle in Scotland, where they roll about. The climbers must sprint across all four floors & ascend towards the checkered goal in order to gain 'wins' and increase the difficulty. It's easier said than done, as all sorts of barrels are constantly rolled out across the platform & down to the bottom, which the player must jump over to avoid bumps, squishes, KOs, and other crazy effects. The climbers can use ladders to help them reach the top quicker, but barrels can tumble down them and get in the way of that. The higher the difficulty, the faster barrels will roll out. If our daring crew takes too long to reach the top, the difficulty will decrease to make it easier. That being said, will they be able to reach the grueling maximum Difficulty of 100%?! We'll have to wait and see. Hover over a character to see their name and amount of wins. If the thumbnail doesn't disappear while the project is still running, click/tap it to hide it. Please note that the layering may be inaccurate at certain points... ==== HOW 2 REMIX ==== Want to add more players climbing the castle? Follow these instructions carefully to get them in: 1. Scroll down below these instructions & read the rules! Don't proceed until you have. 2. Comment "Remixing..." to notify others, then click the green 'Remix' button at the top-right corner. 3. Create a duplicate of the "Player0" sprite. (right-click the sprite on the sprite list, then click "duplicate") 4. Create your character! Replace every costume in the duplicated sprite with your character, replace all "Voice" sound clips (at the bottom of the sound list) with your character's voice, & set their name, Run-animation and sound-amount settings. If you wish, you can also change their Footstep & Jump sounds. 5. Test your project &, if you like the result, either continue to add more characters or share it! 6. Modify the title to match the current remix number & amount of climbers. You're also allowed to add characters to the thumbnail & add more music tracks. ==== RULES ==== Only @Burgnew_On_A_Laptop, @ZYellow, @Kyle3912Again, @SCRACO65, @Eliminated, @BobbyTheCatTheFirst, @SlyCotton-Apriwolf and @meow10010 are allowed to break these rules. Rules marked with a (!) can ONLY be broken by @Burgnew_On_A_Laptop, nobody else! (!) 1. Remember REMIX ETIQUETTE: Comment "Remixing..." in the comments before starting a remix so people know not to accidentally split the remix tree's branches. If you don't intend to make a new remix branch, then don't remix if someone has commented "Remixing...". 2. Do not add anything that is a violation of Scratch's Community Guidelines. Do not add any unsafe content. 3. Don't add or remove anyone from the breaking rules list without permission. Furthermore, don't delete any of these rules or instructions & don't completely change the project title either, unless you're coming up with a new AY minigame, in which I recommend making a copy of the project in the editor. 4. Don't delete or ruin anything you didn't make, unless to fix glitches, errors or rule-breaks, delete unused scripts, or (only if you're a rule-breaker) to add a new feature to the game. 5. Don't make your characters too large, that would make it hard to see or make them too inaccurate compared to their hitbox. I suggest scaling your character assets IN THE COSTUME EDITOR to match the size of the other characters before making your other costumes. 6. Adding any singular characters that appear to be 2 separate characters (EG: Mario & Luigi both as 1 player) is not recommended, but you may do this if they are stuck together with no feasible way to physically detach them. 7. Don't delete any music tracks unless they break the Scratch Community Guidelines. If you don't want to listen to a certain song or genre, utilize the "audio exemption" functionality to make sure you can't. 8. On the topic of music, please also refer to the Music comment's recommended music limit so this project's file size doesn't bloat too quickly. 9. You can add yourself to the thumbnail, but please don't delete any characters off it (unless they must be removed due to breaking the rules) or completely change it altogether. 10. If you are part of the "breaking rules" list, you're allowed to add a new rule if needed. Remember to add it to both the RULE RECAP comment and the project's instructions! Make sure you double-check these rules in the thumbnail just before you share the project. Don't let your remix be UNOFFICIALIZED by broken rules, or else it'll likely be abandoned.
Here is the information on the barrels that you'll see in the project. 0. Barrels are simply barrels, they roll down to the bottom as you jump over them, trying not to get hit by them. 1. Light Barrels move faster than regular barrels and fall down the ladders slower due to their lighter weight. 2. Heavy Barrels move slower than regular barrels and fall down the ladders faster due to their heavier weight. 3. Bouncy Barrels bounce while they're coming down, so trying to jump them isn't recommended, as they can hit you in mid-air. 4. Tar Barrels are like regular barrels except they spill tar behind them. The tar slows you down, so be careful when these barrels come out and spill their tar. The last time someone stepped in the tar, we ended up calling 911. 5. Spiked Barrels are not to be made fun of. If you hit one of these, you are shot off the map and are sent back to the start. 6. Pause Barrels will freeze you if you hit one of these. The only way you can be unfrozen is if you wait a short period of time, or if another barrel hits you, but be careful what barrel hits you. 7. Transformer Barrels will literally turn you into a barrel if you hit one of these. When this happens, you'll fall a few floors before you revert back, so beware of these. 8. Warp Barrels will send you on a random floor if you hit one of these. It's either an advantage or a disadvantage depending on where you're sent. 9. TNT Barrels, as I already mentioned, will explode when hit, and the climber who touches it first is shot off the map, much like the Spiked Barrel, however, others will only be stunned if they're caught in the explosion. 10. Reverse Barrels start at the bottom and roll up to the top, in the opposite direction as the rest of the barrels. Climbers can't see when these barrels are about to hit them, therefore it's almost impossible to jump them. These barrels can't climb up the ladders. 11. Sine and Cosine Barrels slow down and speed up repeatedly, much like sine and cosine waves on graphs. The only difference is that Cosine Barrels fall down the ladders faster than Sine Barrels. 12. Glitch Barrels randomly do something to you if you hit them. Either they shoot you off the map, turn you into a barrel, freeze you, warp you, or simply stun you. 13. Atomic Barrels are the worst ones. They make a much more massive explosion if you hit one, and unlike the TNT Barrels, anybody who gets caught in the explosion is also shot off the map. Make sure you avoid these barrels, as it'll send a massive explosion. 14. Rainbow Stars give you invincibility for a short time if you collect one. You are immune to the barrels when you are invincible, and you'll stun anybody who gets in your path. 15. P-Switches slow down the barrels for 10 seconds, so it's easier to avoid them when like this, but it doesn't stop you from being able to avoid the Reverse Barrels, just so you know, alright? Now you know what to do, so enjoy the project!
