TW // D3ath and paralyzation Backstory - Hazelpaw tossed in her sleep, unable to stop thinking about her Warrior Assessment. She'd been training for only two moons but Fawnpounce agreed to let her try early. " Ahh! Good morning Greypaw!" Hazelpaw announced with exitement. " Ugh... it's still sun-up Hazelpaw! Get back to sleep!" Greypaw groaned. Hazelpaw rolled her blue eyes. Then nestled back into her nest. *cough cough* Fawnpounce sat up in her nest *hakk cough cough cough* " Fawnpounce, for the last time go see Mintberry in the medicine den," Fallowstar advised to her coughing deputy. " I don't need a stupid medicine cat right now," Fawnpounce objected. Fawnpounce dozed back off to sleep. Hazelpaw woke with a great feeling the next morning but it all ended when she heared Fallowstar shout, " Fawnpounce wake up! Wake up can you hear me? Wake up!" Hazelpaw rushed into the leader's den, to find Fallowstar crying on a suspiciously still light brown body. "F-f-fawnpounce?" Hazelpaw studdered. This couldn't be! Fawnpounce couldn't be dead! She was too young! WAY to young. And now Hazelpaw couldn't complete her assessment today. "Mama?" Two tiny voices sqealed, "MAMA!" The voices belonged to Fawnpounce's kits, Mistkit and Duskykit. Hazelpaw turned away. She couldn't bear watching the kits cry over their dead mother. I'll prove myself no matter what!, Hazelpaw promised. During Fawnpounce's vigil, Hazelpaw snuck out on a journey to find the badger that had been attacking Camp for many moons. Hazelpaw followed the sent to a large den. Hazelpaw tasted the air, looking for a scent. Just then, a massive paw swept across the forest, crushing Hazelpaw's left side of her face. Hazelpaw bared her teeth, no to frighten the animal but to cope with the intolerable pain. A figure from behind the two jumped out from the bush, swiping he long claws against the massive badger. " Hezelpaw! Go! Go get the patrol!" Poolspots, Hazelpaw's mother yelled, while fighting the vicious beast. " M-mother! I can't move!" Hazelpaw screeched. Brackenthrush, the deputy ran into the scene, snatching Hazelpaw by her scruff, " Wait! but what about Poolspots! Mother!" " Hazelpaw, it's too late, she's gone." " Hazelpaw stared in disbelief." I never meant for this to happen, she thought. Two Moons Later "Hazelflower! Hazelflower!" Her clan chanted with joy. Hazelflower knew she should be happy. But nothing would ever be the same again. It was her fault her Clan had lost a valuable Warrior. " It's ok," Whitenose comforted, " Don't blame yourself." " WHY THOUGH!?" Hazelflower grumbled, " I killed my mother and now I'm paralyzed!" " You know we all make mistakes" " Yes, but have any of your mistakes ever killed a cat?" " Yes, three." Hazelflower stared at him, " I'm sorry. I didn't know..." Whitenose stared back at her. " It's ok. Everyone forgave you." Hazelflower sighed, " But I'm still so ugly! Just look at my face..." Whitenose blushed for a second then added, " Really? All I see is a beautiful cat, looking back at me." Hazelflower couldn't help hugging him. " Thank you."
