A bit of lore about Taq's parents! Torrent- Taq's dad Whisker- Taq's mom Whisker and Torrent were friends from the start. They just clicked together perfectly, so they ran away and became mates super young. Think 18-19 year olds just running away to start a life. Obviously, they're a bit full of themselves, so Torrent got challenged for their part of the forest, and he lost. He somehow didn't die. He and Whisker moved into the city afterward because cats don't challenge for territory in the city. There, they have a kitten they call Taq (Previously named Tinker) and another they name Birch. And then they died-
The one stomping on them is Taq, and he's angry that they didn't live up to the image they wanted to. Also, don't forget Taq is trans! He knew he was male the day he knew the difference between a she-cat and a tom, and his parents just let him strut around like that, but he didn't like "Tinker" for a name, so he changed it to Taq. He has dysphoric episodes sometimes, but usually, he's proud of who he is. (And no I did not forget Taq's tail, this was like just after Whisker died, therefor Torrent would already have died.)
