To those who celebrate: Happy Purim! Click the green flag and then background. Purim 2024 begin Saturday night, March 23 and ends at sundown on Sunday, March 24. It commemorates the deliverance of the Jews from their enemies in ancient Persia. People spend time with family and friends. They give presents such as food and drink to family, friends and others on Purim day. Those presents are called Mishloach manot or shalech mones or a Purim basket. They eat special triangle biscuits called hamantaschen. Some people say that the hamantaschen are shaped like triangles to represent the corners of Haman’s hat.
