YES THIS IS A FREAKING RANT I'M TIRED OF THIS- Okay, so lately I've been seeing a lot of AI generated things online, trying to copy professional artists and other people's artwork without permission, and to be honest it's making me kind of mad :/ First of all, AI "art" is not really what it says it is: while i completely respect coders (as i love coding myself) it is not respectful to artists... it's just compiling things the computer sees on the internet and translating that depending on your words. Someone told me, "Oh, AI 'drew' that!" and I got really pissed off because AI first of all did not draw that, it just basically stole but it's becoming harder to see what's real and what's not. Secondly, it makes me really annoyed that AI is being used to exploit professional artists. There are a lot of people who draw for a living, and AI generated images threatens that! For example, I just turned 13 and I was hoping to major in art of some sort, but by the time I go to college in a couple of years, who knows what AI will be able to do by then? I'm not saying it's not fun to look around at what AI is able to generate - I've done it myself - but it's taking over too many things. AI is also doing it *without credit*. It's like if I put my art up online, AI might be "referencing" it and copying it down right now. However, nobody has given AI companies permission to use their art as a training model. Like, artists work hard for their artwork and their style and it's really not fair for AI to just take it without their consent. Also, people might use AI to do some weird stuff. Even today without widespread use of it, twitter (X) and other social media platforms are already pretty toxic, and honestly we just don't need more sus stuff coming into the art community >:( Just NO I really get annoyed when people use AI "art" - IT'S BASICALLY THE EQUIVELANT OF STEALING. Please remix and/or spread the word <33 I respect the people behind it, but I do not respect what it's being used for.
