A True Warrior’s Secret (BOOK ONE) Prologue As a dark gray cat stalked though under the brambles and a white cat with an orange tail and paw watched. “Hump... stupid mouse!” cursed the dark gray cat. “What Spiderstar?” asked the other cat “Nearly...” the dark gray cat paused. A snowflake fell on his black nose. “Strange.” he said wondering why it would snow now he walked over to the other cat. “Where’s the marigold?” The orange cat was messing with sorted herbs "We need some for Wolfpelt!” As a chill filled the air so did a rustle in the bushes. “Good Waterdusk is here!” a gray lump of fur staggered though the brambles. The gray lump bolted across the camp; it was not Waterdusk. The orange and white cat stared, closed her eyes and when the thing left, she opened them. “A warrior will keep a deadly secret.” said both spontaneously. They stared at each other “A warrior keeping a deadly secret?” questioned the dark gray cat “deadly?” Chapter one Alright listen! As starlight disappeared being replaced with sunlight, Spirngkit felt content with the fresh moss her father Spiderstar had replaced with the old dead moss. Springkit batted her paw at a butterfly she had caught yesterday. She was fortunate to find one in the hollow tunnels where she and her clanmates called home. Springkit left the nursery across the camp entrance wishing she could have some other kit to play with. “Loinblaze?” predictable she was always on patrol. Even though she was a queen. “She should be caring for me!” she mewed angerly. She saw Spiderstar grooming himself. At least Spiderstar plays with me. She had hoped Spiderstar would be a bit more playful lately. He always is talking to Belheart and had no time to play for what seemed like moons, but it was only roughly four sunrises. Longwhisker had seemed bored when she was training her apprentice Pantherpaw. Can I join him? Thought, Spirngkit. Before she could ask, she was pushed to the ground, the breath escaping her small weak body compared to this beast. “Houndpaw off!” she squeaked. “Why should I?” she taunted “You're going to be accused of kit murder of the leader’s daughter!” said Springkit “I am the also the leader’s daughter.” Houndpaw said while getting off. Springkit shook off the dust on her pelt. She sprinted though the clearing round and round. “I am coming hot on your trail!” yelled Houndpaw they ran and ran Springkit slipping and dodging Houndpaw paws. Springkit had skittered and jumped...PLOP “Ouch!” Houndpaw asked “Are you ok?” Spirngkit nodded “Good.” Houndpaw left as she was put on patrol with Hollyberry, Firestone, and her inexperienced mentor Redpatch. She stared hard at the exit, leaving the barely lit hollow tunnels with the rough hole leading to the surface. Springkit felt distraught with her thoughts, not being able to think of a single game to play with any of her clanmates. Nonetheless, Springkit walked around camp looking for commotion, nothing, no training anymore, no interesting conversions, not even the old Leaftail wanting to do anything. Springkit had wondered where Loinblaze was, if she was on patrol she would have been here by now. She had hoped it would be soon. Even though Loinblaze had ignored her a lot compared to Houndpaw from what she could see. Springkit left the dim tunnels and into the large pocket of the nursery it felt so empty except that it had never felt completely full to the young kit. She stretched as it had been a while and still no sigh of Loinblaze. She stood up and walked out of the nursery feeling gut worrying thought what if she is lost forever! “Spiderstar!” She yelped as paws led her to the rocks to get in the leaders den, a height impossible for her to reach. She noticed Lostleg in the clearing she huffed “Lostleg!”, she ran towards him. “What can I do for you?” he asked seeming amused with the kit’s antics. Springkit explained that she was worried about Loinblaze and that she needed Spiderstar. He stood up and walked over to the rocks “Spiderstar!” he yelled. Spiderstar peered out “Yes?” he asks “I want to talk to you.” Springkit said Spiderstar leaped down gracefully. Springkit explained “Loinblaze?” He took it and thought his eyes glowing a bit from the shadows. “I know she that she likes to take walks since she been in the nursery a while now!” he chuckled a tab bit then got serious. “She shouldn't take this long though.” Spiderstar questioned. His eyes widened he scrambled up the tight stones with a small waterfall coming out. “All of Parieclan old enough to run the fields gather around the Waterstones!” Spiderstar yowled the clan started to spill out into the main hollow tunnel nearly all of them confused, but Springkit was not, but she was worried. “I Spiderstar have not seen Loinblaze I feel like something horrible might happen to her.” he said with a cold glint in his eyes. “I will send out patrols!” he exclaimed “Snakepaw!” a concerned voice called out. “She was on a p-patrol t-they Loinblaze a-and Snakepaw then Houndpaw joined them!” the voice became more confident “They left when Houndpaw came back!”
