The mountains writhed in pain, and the earth shook and broke and shattered on stone. (pause as the Clan drums their paws to mimic the earth shaking) Many were thrown into the Everlasting Sleep, broken and fractured like the mountain slopes. Many names were wept into the wind, and the wind did not hear them. The Finding – Many kit-kits before you were born when a cat named Brittlebush woke from the shattered pieces of the world. She gathered and spoke greatly, and she brought with her those who fled the Mountainwar. Among them, names of great meaning, rootnames many, and she led them from the land of violence as the earth tore itself in two. The Journey – Many kit-kits before you were born when long pawlengths the First Ones took, fleeing the Mountainwar. They gathered others to them, kits and elders, leaving none behind who were in pain and longed for peace. Paws on paws they traveled far, until they found their first denplace, and wearily rested there. The Claw of Sickness – Many kit-kits before you were born when poisonbl00d came among the First Ones and with withered claws it stole from them. They called the poisonbl00d the Foaming-mouth, for those who it took breathed not anymore, but drifted in pain into the Everlasting Sleep. They wept the voices of the Sleeping into the wind, and the wind did not hear them. The Bl00dwar – Many kit-kits before you were born when they fled the poisoned denplace, leaving the incurable sickness behind them, and again into the claws of those who would destroy them. Rogues descended on the First Ones and spilled their bl00d over the stone ground of the Mountains. They took the life of Stem, who was Rootstar’s kin, and they forced away the First Ones. The Four-home – Many kit-kits before you were born when the First Ones came down from the mountains upon the Mirror Lake. There they made the second denplace in Greenleaf, and there Brittlebush passed into the Everlasting Sleep. The First Ones buried her by the Lake and in peace lived for a moon, until the other Clans found them. Long nights and days they struggled, the claws of WoodClan and CrookedClan unsheathed in anger. Basalt spoke greatly, for she knew of the shattering of the world beyond. They won the Mirror Lake and became in their own right a Clan. This was the ending of the Long Walk, and many kit-kits since have passed, but still MirrorClan recalls.
