Hello everyone! Today, I am back with an interesting project, which uses trigonometry to find all the interior angles of any polygon! FEATURED!! Thank you so much Scratch Team! Please don't advertise or send links here... HOW DOES IT WORK? ˚.⋆➤ Firstly, the computer divides the given polygon into many triangles (n-2 to be exact, where n is the number of vertices). ˚.⋆➤ Then, one by one, the three altitudes of the triangles are found. The measures of the hypotenuse and base are calculated. (using Pythagoras theorem) From this, the cosine of the angle is calculated by dividing the base by the hypotenuse (welcome back, horrors of class 9) Thanks to our trusty 'acos' operator one scratch, the angle's measure can be found from it! This is done for all the triangles and the measures are stored in a list! ˚.⋆➤ Lastly, a special pattern is executed, and the computer adds the list items to form the measures of the interior angles of the polygon! Note ˚.⋆➤ The angles are not 100% accurate as the project uses scratch's sprite sensing technology to measure a certain distance... but, it tells us more-or-less the correct measure!
