Use an avalanche airbag that may help you from being completely buried. Carry a collapsible avalanche probe and a small shovel to help rescue others. How deadly are avalanches? - Avalanches may cause seizures, injuries, and may even cause DEATH. Each year avalanches kill more than 150 people worldwide. In 90% of avalanche accidents, the victim or someone in the victim's party causes the snow slide. The human body is 3 times denser than avalanche debris and will sink quickly.
