*+* Day 5 DTSE *+* Name ✎ Pepper Star sign, zodiac sign. ✎ Dragon and Capricorn! Birthday ✎ ⋆⁺₊❅⋆Dec 25th!₊❆⋆₊ ⤑ Backstory ✎ Pepper padded around the peppermint birch trees, looking for the special berries her grandmother asked her to go out of the sheltered cottage, deep in the woods, to get. At least the snow was nice, it had a nice crunch, good for building and didn’t turn into mush the second she touched it. Clutching her basket tightly with only a few berries she had luckily found before the local red squirrels raided the berries she gazed around the clearing, suddenly Pepper saw the sun reflect off a cool blue surface like the glacier reflecting against a moonlit fjord. ‘ ‘ The moonberries! ‘ ‘ she exclaimed at once when she saw them, bounding through the deep snow, even though she could take her time, it wasn’t like a bird was going to randomly fly down and take them, even if it did, she’d scare it off. Now face to face with the bush, she gently put down her basket, before nipping the precious berries of their stalks and placing them in the basket, as much as she liked the snow, she was eager to get back to her warm and cozy cottage, well not hers, TECHNICALLY, but her grandma’s, you get the point! Bounding off lightly with her basket, soon bouncing through the peppermint striped birch trees that had firmly planted themselves there long before she was born…Soon enough the rough shape of the cottage came into view, with winterblossoms covering the roof in a cascade of beautiful shades of shimmering white to stunning azure, cluttered next to a chimney sputtering smoke. ‘Grandmother must be cooking or something.’ Pepper thought excitedly at the thought of a nice warm meal. Opening the door and padding in, after shaking the snow off her sleek brown fur, she bounced to the kitchen, where a warm, spice scent was rising from around her, ‘such a….pretty(?) Aroma.’ Pepper sighed happily to herself before placing down the berries next to her golden dappled grandmother. “I got the berries gran!’ She nudged her grandmother gently. ‘Ohh goodie!’ Her grandmother blinked happily. “Now maybe I can make that special pie! Thanks dearie!” She flicked her frail tail to the shelf where berries went. Pepper obediently put the in. ‘ ‘ Whacha cooking granny? ‘ ‘ She asked after a rise of the mouthwatering aroma filled her nose. “My famous spice and pumpkin soup, oh boy back in my day I won so many contests with my pumpkin so-“ she broke off coughing. Pepper rushed to her side. “Granny!!” Her eyes widened in distress as her grandmother staggered to her room and flopped on her bed. “Great heavens it’s happening sooner than I think..” she said with frailty. “What?” Pepper asked, still quite distressed, fighting back tears over the small coughing outburst. “I’ve got a great illness…no one survived it…..a fortune teller told me this would happen and to find him when it do-“ she broke off coughing, and Pepper held her paw tighter. “I can survive out here by myself but you have t-“ she broke off again. “Find him..” she dug around her dresser weakly, until she drew out a purple paper with a circle, flanked by two stars, all in golden lining. Handing Pepper the paper she smiled weakly. “Go my dear…I’ll be fine over here….you must-must go to the tow-wn and find him.” Pepper, blinked back more tears, her grandmother was relying on her. Maybe even relying on her with her life….no matter what…no matter the cost…..Pepper was going to fix this…. ⋆⁺₊❅⋆Thanks for reading! Have an amazing holidays ₊❆⋆₊
