Bio: Name: Solstice Gender: Female/Hen Species: Velociraptor mongoliensis Personality: Fiercely loyal to her Pack and ready to slash open a Moon Pack snout at any sign of threat, Solstice is not a raptor to mess with. She has a short temper and it is hard to gain her trust, but once you have, she’ll protect you like you’re her own chick. Description: Her sleek feathers are mainly brown with black markings. Her eyes are a yellowish-amber, and her toeclaws taper to a lethally sharp point. Backstory: Solstice was hatched to two Sun Pack raptors (so no hated-but-became-hero half-pack cliches here). She was the first to hatch in her clutch, and, naturally, was the dominant sibling. She was the first to join her mother, older sister (Clypse), and a few others of the Sun Pack, on a hunt. She was the first to spot prey on that hunt. Even Clypse had to agree with her mother’s constant praise; Solstice was a natural born leader. As Solstice grew older, she participated in more hunts and more battles. These battles were mostly skirmishes with No-Packs. One day, the Alpha sent all the grown and sub-adult raptors into a battle against the Moon Pack. Solstice proudly traveled to the sand dune on which they would charge at the enemy with her packmates. The Sun Pack’s Alpha screeched a battle call. Solstice and her packmates descended upon the waiting Moon Pack. Solstice was doing well, with no major injuries, until a Moon Pack hen with feathers like the night slashed her claws down Solstice’s snout. There were few casualties on the Sun Pack side, and the Moon Pack retreated. Eventually, she became Beta, and when the Alpha died, she took his place.
