Did i spend an insane amount of time researching this while I should have been working on studying for my Physics exam? *inhale* yes Thunderclan, Windclan, Shadowclan, Riverclan. Since the beginning of time, each clan has been the same.... or have they? Welcome to Fay's Hyperfixation Rambles 101!! this idea has been brain-stewing for a while, so I'm glad I finally get to share it!! If people like it, I'll probably make some more The basic premise of this is that, after years of living as separate groups and in the wild, it'd only be natural for the cats of TC to be different than the average cat... For now, we're starting with physical attributes. Living in the mountains, they'd be apt to develop much thicker coats, having enormous amount of what the TC community has dubbed "floof". The cold temperatures are hard to withstand for the average housecat, after all. Although most normal cat breeds have one similar type of hair, it could be imagined that the cats of thunderclan would have... multiple. Triple-layered coats, which are often found in breeds like Siberians and Nevas (Wikipedia), have adapted to colder climates, like TC has, allowing thicker insulation. Because of plenty of breed mixing in TFC, it's entirely plausible for cats like this to show up- although there's a decent chance that there are also double-layer coaters in TC. One downside of these coats, however, is the sheer amount of maintenance it takes to keep the coats from clumping and tangling. I'd imagine that it'd become a daily occurrence for the cats of thunderclan to groom themselves religiously- perhaps seeing cleanliness as a key aspect to the clan. If you can't even put yourself together, how are you even supposed to work? From an outsider's perspective, it could seem vain, but in Thunderclan's view- it's basic hygine. This could even get to the point where certain cats could be barbers for other cats, working out tangles, styling fur, etc. Thunderclan could become a fashionista clan, so why not put some style in necessity? Because thunderclan has such a rocky climate, its members would be more likely to have tougher pawpads and longer claws to handle the climbing and many hazards on the ground. To reduce heat loss, these cats would likely have shorter ears, and longer tails to balance more easily, especially with the weight that comes with the extra fur. Muscular and long back limbs would also probably be prominent for greater leaps and bounds, although they would probably be only slightly larger than the average cat. Because of the limited food in the mountains, and cats having a high metabolism, Thunderclan would probably sleep. A LOT. It's about conserving energy more than anything, especially in the winter months- becoming something of a hibernation period that I could imagine being made into some sort of event at some point if my strange rambles ever hold some weight. Culturally, Thunderclan (as asked on the chaos server) seems to be a very open-minded Clan with little regard for the code. Two dark forest leaders can prove that- they take to parts of the code when it suits them. Instead, they seem to operate on a secondary loyalty system, sure they have leaders because the leaders are trusted. They may be their cousin or their mentor. Everyone knows everyone else, especially because it's such a harsh climate to live in. With there already being two leaders, I can easily imagine thunderclan mixing up their government system. Partly why they're such a powerful clan is because of their loyalty and trust. I could easily see the "second-in-command" position being rotated through elections of some sort, making sure every voice was heard. Love and care and familial relationships, but all against the code. What do the other clans think of that? It's established that they might see Thunderclan as vain, arrogant, but their rejection of the code? To put it simply, Thunderclan can pull it off. They're smooth-talkers, easy-smilers, and most importantly, they're *nice*, when they want to be. Their leaders, the stickglass duo, are nice, kind, loyal, but also are incredibly intelligent, and able to pull off any move they want, and get the full support of their Clan. They know how to work a crowd, essentially, which is why there hasn't been much discourse. Much drama. It's the flair that keeps this imaginary tc alive, the charisma, the quick glances and knowing smiles, all within a bundle of fur and a "vain" culture. Faye out. If yall like this, i'll make a part two? maybe with another clan? I need info and suggestions though.....
