★ The journey as a blob of water ★ Living as a dewdrop was pretty simple. But, very boring. I just watched as deers would drink from the creek, as the humans would play and splash, as the bears would hunt, it all seemed so fun. I wanted to explore! I wanted to see the world! I wanted to do things! Not sit here on a leaf. I would freeze during the winter, then melt. Freeze, and melt. Freeze, and melt. I lived for about a year before I got sick of it. I saw all of my friends leave the leaf and join the river. I saw. But I couldn’t experience it. It was all out of my reach. I was just on a sturdy leaf that was never messed with. I yearned for something more, something, just something more exciting than this! But one night, a very very windy night, the leaves were bobbing up and down, the soft sound of the wind was blowing, and that soft sound, soon became a loud sound. The bobbing became violent shaking. And then… I flew off the leaf. Was this my destiny? It was finally time! I would finally join the river and become useful for once- -I then proceeded to… land on a shard of glass… I waited for hours for something to happen. But nothing did. Was this my fate? To just live somewhere hotter? But, one hot night, I woke up… to be in the sky. I was… part of a cloud! I had been evaporated into the cloud! I was so excited! The breeze that I felt on my face felt amazing! The speed I flew through the air in…the sounds of the birds chirping… it was all so fun! But then, of course, all good things must come to an end. It rained. And I was part of the unlucky cloud who unfortunately had to be that rain. I fell and fell… until I hit a car, with a human child staring at me. The child looked excited and was shouting something, but I didn’t understand until I saw there was a raindrop next to me. Was he shouting because we were racing? I didn’t know, but I was determined to finish that race. I speed down as the kid cheered for me, but then I hit a puddle on the ground. I was part of the puddle now. I moved into the sewers. The sewer reeked of rotten food and waste. I moved through there for what felt like hours. I saw rats and animals. Soon enough, I saw two teenage humans with a clown mask. I wonder what they were going to do. As I waited and waited to leave, I flowed through a pipe and exited the sewer. I was finally in the ocean. After so long, and being very patient, I got what I wanted. I finally rested.
