Now this position can either be your best friend or your worst nightmare depending which person you are, let’s just say your on the top, you have various advantages Such as your safe because if your opponent try’s to escape you can apply pressure on them, you can also do various submissions (to tap someone out) and it’s flexible to get into various positions.
Now let’s look at it the bottom persons view, if your there your pretty screwed, you can attempt to escape and get your opponent on a half guard (which is where you trap your opponent leg by using your legs to wrap around they’res) or a close guard (see my previous project) or if your lucky back on your feet. To stop your opponent from applying pressure on you you can put you on their shoulder and your other hand under the armpit, so when your opponent pushes they will be choking themselves because your hand on the shoulder would be putting pressure on they’re throat and you can try to ease the pressure by pushing them away with the two hands that are on them
