Story samples: Crying gold is regarded by locals as a spirit or guardian of the area they live in. Living in the highly remote upper arctic regions of my world and separated by the enigmatic woods, the region this entity inhabits are very difficult and tedious to reach by tourists or visitors. This creature constantly secretes liquid gold from its eyes, which dries and hardens almost immediately after leaving the creature's face. It uses these tears to slowly build massive structures in a similar way to how someone would make a drip-castle at the beach - then it would carve these massive stalagmite-like structures into sharper points to mark its territory. Regarded highly by the locals who do inhabit the settlements within its area, this creature is treated with high respect similar to how some cultures honor the presence of dragons. This creature is said to prophesize prosperity depending on whether or not it arrives on a certain date every year. (For example, if it doesn't, bad luck will ensue that year.) The presence of the gold structures is also an indicator - the creature is pleased and healthy the more structures it makes each year. These structures are harvested as they eventually fall over on their own. It is also said to guide lost children back home and to care for them if they are in need in the meantime. Contrast to this, following its footprints could result in anyone becoming completely lost. Hearing the sound of the ornaments of its wings is a sign of blessing or protection. Finding drops of gold or smears serve as a promise for better times or future prosperity/recovery. Locks of its hair bring good luck to whoever is in possession of it. This is not necessarily a hostile entity - if treated with respect, it will do the same for you. Do not attack it, as it is fully capable of defending itself.
