Their rage sometimes clouds their decisions, but this doesn't happen often. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ❝ɪ ʜᴀᴅ ꜰᴀᴍɪʟʏ ᴏɴᴄᴇ.❞ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- TW: Missing limbs, lava Hephaestus limped into the palace, wincing at the pain in what was left of his right leg. "What are you doing?" Juno spat the moment he entered. She swished her tail, stepping off her throne to walk closer to them. As he fell to the ground in front of her, he felt his strength leaving him. "Can you even walk?" she asked, staring intently at the stump where his leg had been. "No." Hephaestus said, raising his head. "Then what use are you to us?" "I- I don't know." "You will be exiled. If you ever come back, we will k[r]ill you on sight." "As you wish, sister." they said, hanging their head low. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ❝Nᴇᴠᴇʀ ᴀɢᴀɪɴ.❞ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Many moons later, atop a squat volcano far from the Pantheon, Hephaestus had a plan. They rushed around making final preparations, melting one thing here, screwing something else in there. Once all was finished, he placed all the items carefully in his bag and started the long trek up to the Pantheon. It was nearly impossible with three legs, but eventually they made it to the palace doors. Rapping loudly with his paw, Hephaestus pushed open the heavy slabs of marble. "Juno! I have something for you!" he called out loudly. Juno came running in, her paw steps echoing off the hard floor. "Hephaestus. I thought I told you to never. Come. Back." Her expression turned to rage, and Hephaestus began to worry. "Please, accept my gifts." they said, holding the items out with one paw. Juno glanced at them, before taking them with one swipe. She held one of them, a small, golden bracelet up to the sun, letting the rays catch it. "Thank you, brother. You are permitted to resume your time here at the Pantheon if you wish." "Oh, thank you! Thank you!" Hephaestus cried, falling to the floor with happiness. "But I cannot. My forge is set up, far away from here in a volcano. I will visit you and bring gifts not unlike these ones. See you soon." they said, before turning to the door. "As you wish, Hephaestus." Juno said. "Goodbye."
