The North Sydney Bears were another founding member of the NRL, when they joined in 1908. They won only two championships, their last in 1922. They merged with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in 1999 to become the Northern Eagles, however, it split in 2002, and Manly-Warringah continued to play in the NRL.
