I couldn't believe I was doing this. I didn't even know Hanin! yet I was risking my life for him like some heroine! I was annoyed. Annoyed with Hanin for getting captured. Annoyed with the pirates for capturing him. annoyed with myself for going to free the idiot. I shoved those thoughts away, because they weren't going to do me any good. Besides, all that didn't matter now. I had arrived. The pirates ship towered over me like a vast beluga whale. Its many landing ports and windows gaped at me as I tried to inconspicuously fly under it. I passed unnoticed and landed, hidden amongst a field of asteroids. I pulled on my helmet, boots, and air tank, then blasted out towards space. using the small rockets on my feet, I flew towards the ship. I was reminded of that really old earthian movie, Iron Man. My parents had shown it to me as a teenager, claiming that it was a classic, from way before space travel had opened to the public. I couldn't imagine a world where no one but the government had spaceships. it was simply absurd. but, it was true. And it had been a good movie, even if it was extremely outdated. I finally caught the end off the ship and flattened my back against its side. I snuck into the door. Pirates of every kind were stomping across the room in their huge leather boots. seriously, those things were giant. you could probably fit five people in just one shoe. "And plenty of weapons too." I muttered to myself. I pulled out my knife, just in case. I snuck inside and slowly made my way around the edge of the room. A bulky man in a bandana passed, and I quickly hid behind a pile of crates. I looked to see if he'd passed, which turned out to be a big mistake, because he instantly spotted me. "Intruder!" he screamed before I could shut him up. Suddenly, there were almost twenty pirates surrounding me. I slashed the first ones gun in half, then threw him on top of another pirate. Someone grabbed me from behind, their hands closeing around my neck. I elbowed them in their sensitive spot and discovered that it was in fact a man. I slashed at another pirate and ducked as he tried to fire his old fashioned 2023 style pistol. I ducked under the bullet and stabbed his leg. he yelped and jumped back, knocking over three others. I kicked a crate behind me and took out the remaining pirates then dashed into the doorway on the far side of the room. So much for stealth. I made it to the hallway unscathed, but not undiscovered. I ran through the mostly empty walls until I found the holding bay. peering inside each cell, I spotted an (unfortunately) familiar face. Hanin looked up at me, several emotions flashed across his face, surprise, relief, and one I couldn't name, it that looked sad and unbelievably joyful and wistful all at the same time. Then it reverted back to his trademark smirk. "I see that you missed me, Willow. You'll always come running back to me." My face probably resembled a tomato. "Just shut up and get to the nearest landing port." Hanin's eyes widened. "Caci watch ou-" Something very heavy hit my head, and the world turned black.
