on Saturday, November 24th, 2001 at 11:00 pm, a fire was reported at "Oliver Blakk's nighttime slots". the fire seemed to be intentionally started, and very little remained besides a somehow-intact top hat with a small note inside, which read "don't worry, the casino'll be back soon, I just needed a bit of me time.-Mr.Blakk". the casino mysteriously began reconstruction a week later, and now is on the verge of reopening.-Excerpt from 2002 Los Angeles times article.
