SO. I decided I would continue my (lastyear) series called 'Dogs of Flight' because I just looked at the comic-pages.. And thought 'Yea I should continue it' AND change some stuff. That doggie over there is Ace Background doggie is Storm. CHAPTER ONE: A disaster can occur from the warmest embrace to a peaceful home. In Ace's case a calm, early, morning. "Ace? Ace!" Cement barked at him, sounding urgent. "Wake up, you sleepy-head. Storm's gonna bite us if we're late for morning training!" Ace blinked open his blue eyes groggily. "Cement, it's still early, we've got plenty of time," he yawned. "Go wake up Francis, he's the one who always makes us late." The brown and white Spaniel woke up to the sound of his name being said. "What about me?" he asked sleepily. Ace didn't answer and walked out of the lodge and into the chilly courtyard. "Ace you're ironic," Cement muttered. As always, they were accused late by Storm, a grumpy dog that lives up to his name. They would've got in time if it weren't for Ace babbling over how his breakfast was soggy and having an argument when Francis, annoyed, tried offering his breakfast to put an end to Ace's complaints. "I couldn't count on you three on being.. Not late?" Storm scolded. "Sorry sir," Ace mumbled, followed by Cement's quick bow. "Now, Austen said there was going to be a thunderstorm. I want you to not make any problems if you don't want to be drenched." "I think we're already drenched," whispered Francis to the two. "What was that?" their trainer glared at the smaller dog. "Nothing, sir," Francis quickly nodded before snickering behind Storm's back. "As I was saying, no problems," Storm said firmly before moving his tail to signal the start of the warm up flying. "I want four laps!" he commanded only to be cut off short by the quick blur flying past him. Ace enjoyed being Winged, being able to fly and feel the wind whipping your fur and explore the world freely. He spreaded his patterned wings to glide smoothly across the early-morning sky. Francis zipped past from under his shadow, followed by Cement who then did a loop in the sky above Ace. The brown dog chuckled before diving down to fly along them. "Hey Francis, what's that dark blotch in the horizon?" Cement asked, curious. Francis didn't answer and squinted to see more clearly. "Storm," he whispered. "What? That old dog following us?" Ace piped in. "No, storm!" the Spaniel's quiet voice turned into a panicked bark. Francis was right, dark gray clouds loomed towards them, as if trying to engulf them. Lightning was starting to dart out of the clouds followed by loud thunder. Back on the cliff, Storm watched before taking off. "Don't let another life die, Storm!" he growled to himself. Wind was starting to pick up its pace. "Francis, it's moving closer!" Cement barked through the clawing wind. "Obviously, Cement!" Ace yelped at a leaf that whipped his cheek. They struggled to fly back to the cliff, but that was before the shadow loomed above them.
