heres my rendering/shading process featuring a beautiful design i recently bought from @urban_mask !! IMPORTANT: ALMOST EVERYTHING I DO HERE IS STYLISTIC !!!!!! I AM NOT SHOWING YOU HOW YOU SHOULD SHADE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW TIPS !!!!! THIS IS JUST HOW I GO ABOUT MAKING MY ART PIECES also the "additional information": - i make all my art pieces on my phone w my finger in ibis paint x - i usually have my shading layers between 50 and 80 percent (sometimes higher but only really with overlay layers) - my lighting layers are ALWAYS above my shading layers - i tend to use between 10 and 15 layers for more complicated art pieces like this one (sketch, lineart, over 4 shading layers, multiple bg layers, effect layers, etc.) so i recommend using folders theyre super useful - for my lineart and colouring i use the ink pen (but modified) and for shading i use a custom brush i found on pin lmaoooo if anyone wants it hmu i guess ☠ - USE REFERENCES FOR YOUR BACKGROUNDS !!! i had a very loose reference since it was very very simple but for anything more complicated than a few hills/a field always find something online to copy, just remember to mention it was referenced :] - for things i didn't explain like subsurface scattering or just tips on art in general i recommend watching samdoesart he's brilliant and explains everything super well and clearly !!!!! - remember ive been drawing for years and years and to become as skilled as myself you need to practise. i draw every single day no joke- obviously you dont have to pump out a fully rendered scene 7 days a week but finding time to doodle, sketch, or colour at least twice a week is very very helpful !!! :D watching tutorials and studying isn't a necesity if art is a very casual hobby but useful and the key to quick improvement. - remember that finding your style takes time. my style is constantly developing and growing with my level of skill, and it changes often. and that isnt a bad thing !! being able to experiment and try out different things will help you to find what you'd like to keep in your art and what needs fixing. now that's out of the way,,, enjoy !!! this took a while aaahhhhh very proud of this one yippee !!!!!! also the quality wasnt put through a meat grinder which is nice thanks scratch for not ruining my art for once i mean it's still not the best but i'll take what i can get ☠ uhhh let me know if you guys want more tuts n stuff ??? like idk i have a few ideas for a tutorial on how to avoid same face syndrome so if you wanna see that then comment it i guess lmao all art by me @foxbox- :3 character designed by @urban_mask audio is numbers by TEMPOREX code by @colorsnatch tags because im just so quirky like that ⁉ #art #process #tut #tutorial #render #rendering #shading #lighting #furry pssssttt go enter my dtiys and ya might win a snazzy art piece like this one https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/898400808/
