So, say hello to Dusk, a very moody Dark Elf prince from (one of my many) current WIP books. (Explanation-dump) No, the eye glow isn’t a warning for any ‘incoming power barrage’, Dark Elves, (in my books,) release excess light they absorb in their eyes (since they have very light sensitive eyes from living below surface) in darker areas, such as The Abyss (their home), leading to a ‘glowing eye’ affect. Some Dark Elves give off all of their light in a single pulse, others pulse at a low light until all excess light is gone, et cetera. Dusk has the ‘eye glow’ version where his eyes let off a medium amount of light until all excess light is depleted. TL;DR: absorb more light than needed to see? Do eye glowy thingy to get rid of extra light :D
