Click on a component from a tab to select it. Click spacebar to place tools. Click on the console or controller template to change it's color. Click a tool that you already placed to move it. Bug: For some reason, if you click on the "too much tools" tab any time other than the first, to open it you need to click on it, then after waiting 3 seconds click it again.
