This is "Windows Vista Simulator V2" as originally shared in 2010. This is the ORIGINAL 2010 project. This does NOT contain any of the updates found in the newer version. If you found this project randomly, you'll probably want to try the new version instead: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1319228/ Here are some other new simulators you can try: Windows 10 Simulator (another new simulator) https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/87824979/ Windows 98 Simulator (another new simulator) https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/394429611 ----------------------------------- This is a historical / time capsule project ONLY. This project will not be updated. The newest version linked above has various improvements, such as - Scratch 2 compatibility, cloud data support - Desktop icon highlighting, rearrangable gadgets - Working clock, gadgets, volume slider - Performance optimizations, numerous UI & bug fixes - New/improved apps (paint, radio, defender 3, etc) ----------------------------------- Why reupload this? 1. Just for fun 2. The most current version is more complicated - this original project has slightly simpler code and could be easier to understand and modify. 3. This version is fully scratch 1.4 compatible - it does not use any scratch 2.0 or 3.0 blocks. 4. Shows improvement over time - these early projects of mine (which I mostly deleted) were very basic and I didn't know how to pull off simple features like text clocks or rendering an outlined rectangle. It's interesting to compare then and now. ----------------------------------- The original scratch 1.4 project file from 2010 is available to anyone who wants it. Just ask in a comment and I'll send you a download link. (this might be useful for people trying scratch 1.4 or using slower hardware, eg netbooks/raspberry pi) #scratch1.4
