Description

CREDIT TO: @Griffpatch - inspiration. Nintendo - inspiration, concept, and sprites ________________________________________________________ STORY: I helped @geocashing with something that he has since unshared. Then I decided to try to make it into a full game. Let's see how that goes shall we? :) ________________________________________________________ UPDATE LOG: ________________________________________________________ Stage 0 Pre- V0.1: Added scrolling engine STAGE 0: Result: 1 follower - @geocashing ________________________________________________________ Stage 1 V0.1: Added editor sprite, some tweaks to engine. V0.2: Added brightness effect (tell me if this lags, I'll add an option to remove it) Added sound effect for placing tiles. V0.2b: Added a few more tile types V0.3: Added player with fully functional physics V0.3b: Added player costume (Taken from Super Mario Bros v9 by @PaulKoning) V0.3c: Added Spawn point, Mario Graphics, Scenery tiles, and death by falling off the map. V0.3d: You can now break bricks, change Mario's size (B and D keys), added a menu in the editor for tile selection. STAGE 1.0: Added splash screen and music, fixed any remaining bugs, started to add slope tiles - A type of tile never before attempted on scratch. STAGE 1.1a: Yay! Added slope tiles that can be placed next to each other, some small glitches every now and then, but nothing game-breaking (none of them can kill you) - and they're close enough to working perfectly that I'm satisfied to call them a success. (and that's saying something - as I HATE!! bugs in games!) STAGE 1.1b: Added warp points, they only go in one direction at the moment, but so do pipes (which is what they are graphically intended to depict entering). Added Ducking for big Mario and Z to Jump. STAGE 1.1c: New larger map, added the end of level flag. STAGE 1.1d: Added coin block and changed music to the original theme. (Though coin blocks are partially implemented as they don't spawn coins or power-ups), Added Fire Mario (but no fireballs yet) I'm a little worried about the FPS as I still have so much more to add and it might get a bit slow *gulp* PRE-ALPHA (V0.4a): I've fixed any remaining glitches, added sliding, and made a couple of modifications to the user interface. Cool huh? However, no enemies, powerups or collectables yet... And no import/export option. V0.4b: Yay! I've added powerups and a few effects - The mushroom even has slope detection ;-D V0.4c: I've added a few enemies now, and coins EVERYWHERE! This is really beginning to feel like a Mario Game! Oh, and now I've even fixed a few stability issues relating to spawning lots of NPCs at once! (Though the game does take about 2-3 seconds longer to load). I've even added shells and fireballs, so this is pretty much the Alpha release! ALPHA (V0.4d): I've fixed any remaining glitches, added a scoring system (and display), added a few sound effects and a neat timer too! MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS! ALPHA (V0.4e): Just a minor modification - made the player move based on the average FPS. This means that play should be smooth on all machines. -A ton of glitch fixes that appear to have been caused either by the v443 update, or by my recent modification... I might have left it like this if I hadn't have decided to update that. ALPHA (V0.4f): -More fixes - Made the shell 'fly' off the top of slopes rather than riding them up and down... (It's also a tiny bit inconsistent, so harder to predict and react to!) [27/02/16] Removed the 'Merry Christmas' note. Stage 1 result: 20 Faves, 23 Loves, 4 Follows ________________________________________________________ Stage 2 V0.5: V0.6: STAGE 2.0 (BETA): ETA FALL 2016 ________________________________________________________ Stage 3 V0.7: V0.8: V0.9: STAGE 3.0 (FULL RELEASE): ETA SPRING 2017 ________________________________________________________ Post-Release V1.0: Release WOW - YOU REALLY BOTHERED TO READ ALL THIS JUNK?
