For both the thumbnail and one of those screenshots, I also tried experimenting with more solid lineless art style and different opacities with the brushes. of course they're a bit rough around the edges (thumnail bg looks like vomit-) but I think I did a pretty decent job :) anyway yeah, Smash Ultimate is basically half a decade old now. mannnnn, i cant believe it's actually been THAT long, i remember when all the rumors were spreading n stuff when the actual direct occured I was paying zero attention to anything but the art style bcuz it was so cool and polished at the time. that's probably one of if not the first time I ever actually got into Nintendo (at least for the directs n all that jazz). I especially loved when World of Light was revealed. YOU SERIOUSLY CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MUCH I LOVED THE PREMISE. basically every video game franchise in existence (maybe even bigger-scale) being caught in some sort of post-apocalyptic war caused between two gods and like the multiverse is hanging by a thread and could be destroyed at any moment. there's a reason why I made like 1000 fanfics inspired by it. I also fondly remember this meme where ppl were editing random characters just being consumed by Galeem's lights, like- it was just so cool man. it's one of those memes I just wish I could experience again when they were still popular. oh and don't get me STARTED on the DLC. like, who would even think characters like Banjo + Kazooie, Steve, or Sora would get in?? I could literally talk FOREVER about this game and all the memories I have bout it but i might just run out of space lol. ironically I've never picked the game up, I just like the idea of various characters getting together and maybe saving the world from omnipotent disaster. idk, I guess that's what is so appealing bout Smash Bros... but anyway, I also have this webcomic I'm working on that's VERY inspired by it. I just posted the first chapter a while back, but hopefully I'll post chapters more frequently. either way, happy anniversary to Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and tysm to Sakurai for the effort you put into making this series so beloved :)
