Instructions

This is my entry! Space to see speedart. Has anyone realized that we will live to see this? Maybe not this, but by 2050, we'll be (on average) 60 years old. Today's life expectancy is around 80 years, but there are people who have lived to 100, and medicine is improving every day.

Description

@Scratchy-Games-2015 for the challenge. This is what I might expect the future to look like in 2050 or thereabouts. I honestly don't think we'll get things like teleporters or ray guns or jetpacks - but our everyday lives will be improved. (And don't get me wrong, those would be AWESOME.) Google defines a skyline as "a group of buildings defined against the sky". That made me think of "big city", which is what you see here. It's 2050 - that's only about 35 years away. I doubt that very advanced things would appear. Here is what happened: - Scratch became highly popular. Around 2035, people realized Scratch was getting old. A successor called Kitty was created, featuring several upgrades to blocks, tools, and performance. - New energy-efficient cars were made. Powered by ethanol, they produce about 20 times less pollution than modern cars. - Solar power is now one of the main sources of power in most countries, along with wind and hydroelectric. Coal and oil are still used, but much less often. - Medicine saw great strides. A way to slow the progression of diseases such as Alzheimer's was found. - Additionally, new methods for treating patients were discovered, and in some cases, worked better than the original. The cost of treatments went down, as did the cost of running a hospital. Nearly all cities have an emergency room as well as several hospital beds. - The main form of in-city transportation is a carriage on a rail over the city. (I forget what they're called.) - Self-driving taxis exist. - You're in luck, today is the rocket launch for the 6-month team to Mars. They've nearly completed the base and Mars can most likely be colonized by 2070. - And rockets are also improved. They're much smaller and cheaper to make, making missions to other planets easier to launch. (Made this late, I KNEW I forgot something...)
