Instructions

Location: Quincy, UK. Time: 3:15 AM Date: November 7th, 1932. Incident: Engine 23 of the Northern Quincy Railway collided head-on with an express passenger train heading from Barrow-in-Furness. No. 23 was pulling a military supply train with 20,000 pounds of HE artillery rounds. The resulting explosion ended the lives of the crew of both trains and the passengers. Cause: The signalman of the Quincy signal box had been sleeping, and it was too late when No. 23 passed on the same line as the northbound Inquisitor. Result: The engine that No. 23 collided with, an LMS 8F, died along with 1,000 passengers and 8 crew members. Ambulances arrived on the scene about 5 minutes after the crash occurred. The sight they saw terrified them- a singular engine, barely visible under the wreckage, screaming for help and for it to stop. The only few survivors were hospitalized and later died in the hospital, making No. 23 the only survivor. Eyewitness statements: "He was shrieking, shrieking about how it was his fault and how the only one for him had died." - Signalman of the Upton signal box. "The poor engine... He was only 29.." - Bystander "He looked like he was an engine slated for scrap.." - Family member of one of the firemen "OH GOD, JESUS CHRIST, AH [pootis] AH LORD SOMEONE HELP ME JUST KILL ME ALREADY" - No. 23, some of his incoherent ramblings "He... he... he's going to die, isn't he..." Co-worker of No. 23 "Somebody, anybody, make him stop! It's heart-wrenching!" - Co-worker 2 of No. 23 Damage: 1 (one) LMS Ivatt 2MT 3 (three) Suburban coaches 2 (two) box vans 1 (one) GWR 'Toad' brake-van Total casualties: 1000 passengers, heading for Southampton 2 guards 2 firemen 2 engineers 1 engine 1009 casualties in total. Note: A videotape contains the following records but appears to be stuck on a single frame that visually describes the following: One box van with a dented top being lifted via a crane Three upturned Suburban passenger coaches The aforementioned engine (No. 23) screaming random phrases (eg, screaming "HELP ME", "IT HURTS", "END IT PLEASE GOD") while bleeding from the cheek, forehead, and right eye A box van with a dented top
