-Intro- > Hey humans! > Welcome to my second art dump! The first one was a pride month digital art dump, and this one is a traditional art dump, or "sketchbook dump", since all of these were drawn in my sketchbook during the past 3/4 of a year or so. > Enjoy seeing my moderately-crappy pencil / pen/colored pencil art! -Instructions- > click the arrows to see the next/former one > click anywhere else to zoom in > please please please use fullscreen; Scratch trashed the quality (and muted the colors, ugh), and using fullscreen improves the former (but unfortunately not the latter) -Notes- > these are NOT in chronological order. rather, they're organized into four categories. > this is only about a quarter, or maybe a fifth, of what I've drawn in the past 3/4 of a year. I've drawn much more than that, but most of the stuff in my sketchbook is a complete horror show (really bad), I abandoned halfway through, or was a bit too ... well, let's just say I'd rather not share it on Scratch. > you may notice a little purple mark on some of them. this is not part of the drawing, it's just me covering my irl name / signature for privacy and online safety reasons. -Credits- > all art / pictures by me (@-total_nerd-) > button code by me (@-total_nerd-) > zoom in code by @colorsnatch > pen particles by @griffpatch > thumb font from textstudio.com > thumb paper texture from Google > other thumb picture is part of the cover of my sketchbook -Art- Part 1: Little Sketches/Doodles > 1: some early Turnip + Sprout concept art > 2: some concept art for a new OC > 3: some head practice (I had a weird few months where I literally couldn't draw heads properly whatever I did, so these were drawn in an effort to regain that ability) > 4: me trying to figure out how to draw my new *amazing* haircut Part 2: Finished Pencil Drawings > 5: redrawing some old terrible art (how on earth was I that bad 2 years ago like wth) > 6: attempted realistic hand drawing (pretty crappy ngl) > 7: I drew this right after one of my concerts last year and modeled it after my fellow cello-playing friend; not sure exactly what's going on with the shirt ... (pretty happy with most of the shading, though) > 8: erm ... idk. I was trying out a different style and it kinda totally sucks. the highlights on the hair are decent, though. but mostly ew. > 9: trying to practice drawing baggy clothing folds. not sure if it worked super well. the thumbs up hand anatomy is much better than I thought it'd be when I started it, though. but I'm not saying it's good. > 10: some art based on the lyrics "I'm falling / In all the good times, I find myself longing for change" from the song "Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper that I made when it was stuck in my head for (an) unknown reason(s) > 11-12: some characters I thought up. Quinn's shading looks pretty cool (and Emma's isn't terrible either), but the arm anatomy is ... interesting. > 13: ref sheet for a new OC, which I named Circuit (not exactly the most original name for an android, but I like it) > 14: Circuit in a bunch of different human clothes > 15: a drawing that I call "bedhead" which is loosely based on me when I first get up in the morning (in case it's not sufficiently demonstrated on the page, I'm definitely not a morning person. getting up before 7:30 is considered early for me). I'm quite happy with this. Part 3: Finished Colored Drawings > 16: a ref that I thought about turning into digital art and adding to the DMC, but ... feral cat characters aren't my thing. > 17: I challenged myself to draw using only straight lines (no curvy stuff allowed!), and then I decided to color it in with felt tip pens (also no curves allowed). I love the antennae and the hood, but the skin, hair, and eyeballs are a little bit ... ill-looking. > 18: a piece that I've done multiple different versions of starting from when I was about eight and started feeling very off about my gender. I'm quite happy with this one, but there are a few fundamental anatomy issues, and the skirt colors are waaaay too muddy. also, Scratch (and my phone's camera) are very, very evil to colored pencils. Part 4: Holiday-Themed Art > 19: man, I would NOT like to be this elf, especially when whoever this is has to tell Santa how they've wrecked a long string of lights, three rolls of wrapping paper, some scissors, and their back. and I’d not enjoy having those hands, either. please ignore that they look like a sleep-deprived teenager who is in no way decent at drawing hands drew them. *cough cough* > 20: I drew this after I watched the old Christmas special with my younger sibling. I love the art style of the original Grinch and wondered if I could replicate it. turns out that I can! mostly. if we ignore my failed attempt at drawing Cindy Lou Who. > 21: quite happy with this one, apart from the, uh, mitten-like objects. the candy cane looks decent, though, and so does (most of) the top hat. the scarf's not bad either.
