Sharecropping was a system in which new freedmen would be caught in a system like slavery by a system through which keeps the sharecropper in debt by always trying to find some way that the crop they made was not enough to get them out of debt. In the game, you start in debt of 75 dollars, and each season's seed costs 3 dollars.
