I just finished reading what stalks among us by Sarah Howell That book was so on theme for the spooky month. I was not prepared AT ALL But I have this thing where I imagine how my characters would look In the story. Puddle was kind of sad Spoilers ahead, do not click if your interested in reading this book: it’s about two teens who find themselves running away from a school field trip and in a maze. Funny thing is, the further they get in the corn maze, they start finding exact copies of their belongings, and then their dead body. Every time you died in the corn maze you have less of a chance getting out. They meet this other girl named Helena who has been in the maze for 100 years and has died only a few times. She is on her 3rd attempt I believe, which is why she hasn’t failed yet. The maze is built off of memories and moving on btw.In my head cannon, guava and puddle would be the ones sentenced into the corn maze. Guava would have less struggle with the memories part because she has a lot less attachment and trauma then Puddle does. Puddle would be constantly facing up against their parents and would eventually reach a part of the maze yhat represented their childhood. This is the part where the corn maze realizes It has a grasp on Puddle’s mind. They would see their younger self being murdered brutally over and over again, but despite the horrors Puddle wouldn’t be able to run away. The more time Puddle spent remembering, the sentient corn maze would steal them and their body slowly. Guava finds them at some point later, but it’s already to late. Guava then would start seeing puddle everywhere as they tried to escape, which would be how the maze got Guava as well. So yeah. My characters would not survive XD
I might do this again lol I really enjoyed it aslo I got to write about Puddle and Guava which I don’t often get to focus on their lore
