I've wanted to do this since June last year but never plucked up the motivation lol so y'all get to see my other characters drawn along with Iris for once :) ALSO I ENTERED AN OFFICIAL CLIP STUDIO PAINT CONTEST AND SO IAHHABFN idk if i'll even get an honorable mention but guess what I'LL KNOW THAT I TRIED AND THATS WHAT MATTERS <3 1. bored - Iris playing chess cuz shes grounded :( I fr have wanted to make this piece for like- nearly a year?? AND I FINALLY DID WOO WOO 2. forest encounter - my two twins <3 I've been really trying to learn backgrounds! I tbh didn't really do much studying on it lol just drawing and hope it looks good 3. poolside crush - I drew a new character (her name is Kayni isn't she gorgeous) with Lucas, and they're just having fun on this floating island :0 for this piece I made custom foliage brushes (devin elle kurtz as inspo) and it actually worked out pretty well! I think as these progress my background work is becoming a bit more natural, cuz in the twin pic it looks a little choppy ya know 4. into battle - Iris is on a crumbling bridge, shes off to fight someone :) this piece literally took me nearly 10 hours and I scrapped the original background idea I had halfway lol I'm almost certain at least 4 hours or more were spent on the background (dang am I proud of that crumbling bridge behind her IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE HOW I WANTED IT TO if it wasn't blurred I think it'd look messy :'0 5. with you - Eli and Lilly together cuz I feel like I don't draw any other characters other than Iris lol but ANYWAY AREN'T THEY SO CUTE (I made Eli’s hair too purple and out of proportion I’m crying) they’re at a party and they just stepped out together to look at the stars <3 (Eli reminds me of Venti from Genshin impact and I’m such a venti stan) actually learned how to do different face angles, genuinely not sure how?? Like I've practiced side angles for idek how long, but different angles, like the in-between of front facing and side angle, like I've practiced it but suddenly my hand just listens to my brain lol and badabing badaboom I can do different angles which is good cuz I have same face syndrome uwu 6. My CSP contest entry :0 the theme was music, wish me luck - also, this is Ace :) the contest entry ideal canvas size was different from my usual so this one lost its quality :c I PUT MY HEART AND SOUL INTO THIS PIECE, I think it took me about 14 hours? 7. we’ll meet again - climax moment with Lilly, what will happen?? 9. OLD ART PIECE, NEXT IS REMAKE 8. finale - 1 YEAR REMAKE!! I made this ALMOST EXACTLY A YEAR AGO, it was a contest entry (that lost, I had no chance against a bunch of coders lol) SO I REMADE IT YAYY 10 waiting for you - Eli chillin after some big battle in a field of hyacinths, mourning someone (I wonder who) I RENDERED EVERY SINGLE DANG FLOWER IN THE FRONT. The background flowers were a breeze after that lol for this piece I tried the more clean thin lineart style instead of my usual make a sketch and clean it up type thing :0 I TRIED SO HARD with blending modes man, tutorials make it look so easy ;w; I KNOW the lighting doesn’t really make sense but I tried, oh well lol TW: purple goo 11. sharp inhale - Peppei fighting someone, but dw she’s part monster so she’ll be alright :0 this piece was a bit of a relaxer, easy coloring, easy lighting, easy background, I just got to enjoy drawing it <33 And that’s it!! I did one new piece a week, so this took a couple months, which is why I haven’t posted in such a while! Hope y’all enjoyed a look into my lil world and all my silly lil characters, this makes me very happy :) I think this was a great learning experience for backgrounds! (And the best upside, now I can post a bunch on IG for like 3 weeks straight and get my engagement up hehe) and now that summer vacay is coming up, that means I can work on my manga story, woohoo!1!1! peace out friends <3
