I knew I wanted 4 on each side I just couldn't decide where lol - - - SHORT BIO Name: Delphine Age: ancient Gender: female (she / her) LORE Delphine's earliest memory was the red sky. And water. She remembered being washed up in the river current and carried helplessly along. She remembered the sky's reflection in the water, making it look almost like blood. She remembered her head dipping underwater momentarily, and then being pulled ashore. She remembered a large swan and three small selkies crowding around her. She must've been very young when that happened, because she didn't remember much more. Immortality is a lonely life. Delphine spent her childhood with the swan and the three selkies, although she struggled to remember anything. The swan soon passed away. Too soon. She had been like a mother to Delphine. Although the three selkies were immortal as well, their constant need to migrate meant that they and Delphine were seldom together. The selkies were like siblings to her, yet they too slowly drifted away over the years. She had so many questions yet nobody to answer them. She thought that maybe seeing the red sky would help her remember, but it never appeared again. A few years after the swan passed away, Delphine began hearing a voice. The voice told her she was the spirit of the blood moon, and taught her the spirits' ways. Initially, she thought the loneliness was really getting to her head. But over time, she realized that the voice was some kind of god or deity. Everything it said seemed to hold true, and it was comforting in a way. The blood moon was the only time when spirits of the dead can revisit the living realms, and due to this, Delphine was only allowed to make use of her abilities once a year. After all, leaving the afterlife realms should be considered a privilege. The day of the blood moon was something she, as well as every afterlife spirit, looked forward to each year. She remembered her first blood moon summoning very clearly; it was hard to forget. It was like the sky had been ripped in half, as countless eager spirits rushed down to the surface. It must've been what, 20 years since the last blood moon? Then for the first time in years, she saw the swan again. It was like a breath of fresh air, and it was at that moment that she realized how important her job truly was. It was October 31st, and it had finally been a year since the last blood moon. Delphine emerged from her grotto, shivering in the frigid night air. She made her way up the winding mountain path. All the way to the top. She could see all of the villages from there, and watched their halloween festivities fondly. She took a deep breath and concentrated. She waited until the frigid air faded into nothing but a sweet, nostalgic scent. Delphine opened her eyes to the red sky and the pale twin moons. The faint outlines of spirits had already begun to descend from the skies, and she waited patiently for her visitor. It was not long before a large swan finally descended to meet her. - - - NOTES The swan and three selkies mentioned in the lore are actually my sona-family plan! (hehe spectral swan) The only one who has an actual design right now is one selkie (Luall -> https://toyhou[.]se/23762446.luall ) and the rest have yet to be designed.
