Origin of Build: During in the middle of development of “Super Mario World” while they were redesigning sprites and making new levels for Spaceworld November-December 1989 too 1990 the developers decided to make a “little side-project” involving Super Mario World and made a build that went in a darker direction and was passed around Nintendo Headquarters around that time and included never seen before voice work of Mario from Charles Martinet himself. It even had a little separate story for this specific build that states as follows: "Mario and Yoshi got a message from princess peach saying that luigi had been involved in an accident while going on an adventure. mario and yoshi has to make sure he's okay...” The build was nicknamed “DIE198990” and would never be released to the public and will only played on special occasions in Nintendo’s Headquarters.
