BACKSTORY Tw - death, missing limbs, mentally unstable character Raymond was… an explorer. He would explore everywhere. His littermates were more cautious, though, never straying too far from their old barn. Raymond finally got fed up one day. ‘Just come with me this once, okay?’ He said to his littermates. ‘We’ll find something awesome!’ His littermates grudgingly agreed, and they set off for an adventure, Raymond happily leading the way. He started to smell an acrid scent of smoke, and started to bound towards it, eager to find out what it was. His littermates, cautious, walked in fear. Raymond found a huge barbed fence. He slipped under it and nipped it so his littermates could come through. They followed. He started to see bright blue and pink shapes, moving, though motionless. He leapt up and put his paws on a conveyor belt, and found himself moving. ‘Come on!! Come on!! It’s fun!’ He shouted to his littermates. But thy didn’t come, frozen by fear. ‘RAYMOND!! LOOK OUT!!’ They cried, but he couldn’t hear them over the roaring of some machine. He didn’t realise until it was too late. He’d been sucked into the stitching machine. He screamed and struggled as needles pierced his body and fabric was sewn on to him. He eventually went mad with pain. He came out different, to his littermates on the other side. He was blue and pink, instead of the brown and cream he once was. He had stitched fabric all over him, but most of all, he had a completely different tail. He glanced back and saw his own tail lying on the conveyor belt, and felt his new one move without him controlling it. He looked at it, and would have been astonished if he were not mentally unstable, to see a snake-like tail with a mouth looking back at him. It moved in greeting, and Raymond dipped his head in return. His littermates, wide-eyed in fear, shouted ‘RAYMOND! RAYMOND! WHERE ARE YOU?’ And he said in a crazed voice, ‘Right here.’ He leapt off the conveyor belt and strode towards them, before giving them all a deadly strike. Now, he roams the forest and towns, setting fires and madly killing. Many of the people and cats alike hear his crazed laughing at night, and quail in fear. He’s known as the stitched demon.
