I got to a small school and walked up. This isn’t my school. I go to Adren Middle. This is Mazen Middle and High. -En. All the odd schools have En as a suffix. “Well come on, Lambin!” That’s apparently my new name according to Rowan. It means Slowpoke in French. Harper slammed open the door. “You’re both slowpokes.” A crowd of five people rushed around Harper and Rowan. “Where’d you go?” “Did you get him? Or her?” “Or them, Riley.” “Sorry.” “Shut it you two!” They started squabbling with each other. Rowan shoved them all apart. “Yes, I got /her/.” I grin like an idiot. Her! Someone gets it. FINALLY. I must be doing something right. “Aaaand we gave her amnesia…” He laughed nervously. The one supposedly named Riley yelled. "YOU DID WHAT!?! DOES SHE STILL KNOW?" "Yes! Yes! She knows! Calm down. We're going to take her to see Ms Malarksky." I panicked. I saw the mad looks on their faces. The first one to speak when we walked in spoke. "We've been training for three years! And the newbie gets to take the place?" That's the last thing I remember before passing out. I had apparently walked into an old, dingy office. There were these creatures everywhere. They looked like skeleton dogs with powerful teeth and claws. They had gems embedded in them. "-for bringing Mr. James here. If what you say is true…" I resist the urge to scream. The words circled in my head. Mr James Mr James Mr James… JAMES. I decided to ignore this. Like I always do. "He will be taking the place of Lucy as the distraction." HE. HE. HE. "Distraction?" I looked at them confused. "That's why I was kidnapped?" They both tried to calm me down. “NONONONO! Not like that! You-” Then I passed out. I woke up in a bed, I was in one of eight beds in the room. Each area was decorated for their own person. Mine was bare with places where something used to be. Rowan was next to me, wrapping his wrists. “I’m impressed.” I was so confused. “Hmmm? Why?” He laughed. “You turned into a cat and went berserk onto me. Scraped me all over.” He grinned.
