hi there! welcome to a new series of processes, these of screencap redraws. :D in case you were wondering, yup, it’s more x files. :] we’ve been doing a bunch of screencap redraws, and i think it’s taught us a lot! it’s really fun, too :D this one in particular was started just before our trip, but only the sketch was done then. when we got back, i finished it up. :) without further ado, here we go~ 1 | finished product! 2 | the reference - i was perhaps a bit ambitious choosing this due to the angle on her face, the confusing shadows, etc. but mulder looked funny and the flashlights are iconic, i felt wrong for not having drawn them with their flashlights yet. 3 | initial sketch, just getting proportions and positions right 4 | detailed sketch #1, struggling with mulder’s hair and procrastinating on his body since you can’t see a darn thing in the reference 5 | armed with another reference for his hair, i finished up the sketch 6-7 | lineart! the lineart of his lower chest and his legs is not the best (because neither was the sketch), but I figured the shadows would cover it anyhow 8 | base colors, though i end up changing the color of his shirt later because it was actually blue 9 | shading ! 10 | lighting, did this pretty minimally 11 | background, flashlight beams, etc. 12 | some more detailing, and now it’s done! 13 | scully close-up. pretty proud of her, I quite like the angle, lighting, etc. :D 14 | mulder close up. not as happy with him, but oh well, he’s kind of small and in the background xD and thats it! we’re planning on doing a few more of these, we have some drawings done and wanted to spread them out instead of doing an art dump. credits | us - art characters - not sure who owns them. fox? music - bleachers (i wanted you’re still a mystery, but oh well)
