It makes me so upset when people say that people that are on the spectrum are a different species of human. This arose because one of my friends got called that recently, and myself a while ago. It’s even more upsetting when someone says I’m not valid just for having a comfort character. That’s honestly what I’m going to be ranting about- This is probably known by now, but Jayfeather is a character that I find comfort and security in. I’m not in love with him or anything, he’s just a very interesting character to read about, and very relatable. I can relate to a lot of his troubles and insecurities, and especially his personality. I know I know, I’m not blind, but that doesn’t mean I can’t understand what he’s going through. I have a really hard outer shell that is pretty hard to crack irl, and I can really only show my softer side around certain people because I’m afraid of being made fun of/not fitting in again, like Jayfeather. There’s so many things I can relate to, yet people still say that I’m not a valid human being. It makes me so upset! To keep this rant short, I’ll end here.
