I had a lot of fun with this prompt, however I did have a very difficult time completing it because of my schoolwork schedule and my recent lack of motivation to do work with due dates. I wish I had more to put into this round, I have a feeling that this may not be enough for the finals lmno. I went for a watercolor look, making it feel intentionally empty and defeating. Bestie just got his face ripped apart so it makes sense ig he kinda sad. I spent the majority of my time on the lineart because I chose to do a winged fullbody, so I had less time to work on other elements such as the background and rendering. I tried to use this to my advantage and establish a mood, but in the end it didn’t turn out how I wanted it to and that’s okay. I’ve done worse, but I’m still not happy with this piece, especially when compared to my other illustrations for this contest. I’m still grateful to have gotten this far and have been introduced to so many new and adept artists.
