Instructions

So, let us start shall we? So picture the LBSCR in the early 1900s as in 1902, LBSCR E4 No.500 was built and was put into passenger service for his early years. Even though some of his mates giggled and teased about his wandering about and bumping into things, in a positive manner of course. That was until the 20's rolled around and the LBSCR, along with other southern railways, formed together to build well, The Southern Region of British Rail. No.500 around this time was nick-named Kris as his name, Puttenham didn't really sit right with him as he disliked it. Thus having perferred Kristoph or Kris for short(He prefers Kris). In 1923 He was overhauled with a new boiler and had made some friends amongest his southern collauges. That was until. WW2 happened. Of course, every engine had to be repainted into something so that bombers wouldn't try to notice them and so, Kris was painted Black and would help with the war effort. Shockingly, The U.S. had borrowed Kris in the years of 1940-1941 and he'd come back with other american engines built by the War Department. In 1942, though upon his return, he was fitted with american cowcatchers and a bell until 1944. One day in 1943, Kris and a D3 named Ollie were awaiting with their trains to go when a Air Raid went off. Kris managed to get out of the raid safely, but Ollie. Not so much. Ollie was pushed to the limit as his boiler exploded, begging to stop as Kris pleads for him to keep going. The two had a bond back when the Southern Railway was born and had grown to be good friends. Alas, Ollie exploded knocking the bomber from both of his and Kris' view and had crashed into a field. Ollie slowed to a stop in a tunnel and Kris kept going until he reached a tunnel 5 miles ahead from when Ollie stopped. Kris mostly didn't speak that much after that. In 1952, after the war Kris was placed somewhere on the GWR region to piloting duties alongside other tank engines. He had gotten into a fued with a 1339 tank engine called Archie. Archie didn't like Kris and Kris didn't like Archie that was until in '54, when the 2 tank engines were piloting on a cloudy day and the signalman at the junction didn't set the points correctly, figuring the express train that was coming to that station would be coming late. The engine wasn't late. Kris was shunting a goods train with tankers for his next train and Archie was shunting for a local. The two started to bicker when Archie took it too far and tried to get on Kris' line to block him from leaving. Doing so, the express train came in as soon as he crossed over to Kris' line, Ramming into him by the express engine. It was a massacre there that day. Kris was in terrible condition on the brink of death. Archie passed in the crash, alongside his crew and the passengers on the express. Kris was labeled out of comission and was sent to the works to try to get fixed. While he was there, he had vauge dreams of ... haunting him in his sleep. But in the while, he still tried to be positive even though right next to where he was being mended, a diesel was being constructed right next to him. In the while, Kris asked a workman if he can have a headboard. The workman was a bit skeptical but finally allowed him to have one. He called it "The Branchliner" Even to the worker it felt silly, But to Kris it was special. Ollie always called his trains "Branchys" And wanted to represent him for it. Kris sat in the works for awhile until 1960 when he finally got out, He found out he was given Swindon parts to make him a bit more powerful. He also realized times were changing and was transferred to all sorts of branchlines because of the beeching act. Sadly he was put out of service in 1965 he was withdrawn and was awaiting for the cutters torch when he was auctioned off to The Fat Controller for a cheap price! Kris was then transported to Sodor in 1966 and worked as the mainstay pilot until the 80s. The fat controller's friend(AKA The Phoney Controller but we'll cover him later) was constructing a railway and wanted help and some engines. Henry, James, Bear, Oliver, both of the scottish and China Clay Twins and Kris was sent there to help construct the line, alongside Phoney's 2 new required engines, Brighton and Debbie. Kris was amazed by the scenery of wales and when the railway was finished in 1997, He asked to stay on the railway to Topham and Darius. The two thought until finally Kris was allowed to stay. He was overjoyed and thanked Topham for his new life and as a gift, he was gifted 2 Southern Coaches named Jack and Allen in Southern Green. Kris as well was repainted and modified in 2002, with a new bunker that was similar to the Ivatts and had a different wheel arch and had worked on Little Brighton ever since.
