Welcome to this Halloween MAP, Turn the Lights Off! Song by Tally Hall [I cut parts out so the MAP is shorter, more reasonable to get done in 2 months lol] Vocabulary in case you’re new to this stuff: - MAP stands for Multi-Animator Project - AMV stands for Animation Motion Video [I think], and PMV stands for Picture Motion Video [I think]. For comparison, just think of them like using actual FPS [AMV] vs what is pretty much a slideshow [PMV]. - WIP = Work In Progress - TNE = Thumbnail Entry - If you need more definitions for things then just ask me This MAP is Halloween themed, however there aren’t any specific rules as to what you have to include in your part. You can use OC’s or fandom characters, but please try to make your part fit the theme of Halloween! If your creative juices aren’t really flowing right now, you can just animate some characters getting Halloween costumes, trick-or-treating, carving pumpkins, etc! However, if the part you chose sounds fitting for some spooky, dramatic, or scary animation, I highly encourage it :) Just an fyi, all parts are, on average, about 5 seconds long. Somehow with the way I cut parts, I ended up with a lot that were all exactly 5.08 seconds long so I have no idea how I magicked that- Rules: [please read all of them] - Please don’t be rude to other people, I will not tolerate disorderly conduct. If I see you being mean to others, you will be kicked. Don’t go lowering people’s self esteem [especially your own]. In general just try to be a decent human being. - Don’t try to guilt trip me into accepting your part, saying things like “oh I’m not that good,” “Everyone else is so much better than me,” “I probably won’t get accepted,” yeah buddy, going around saying stuff like that definitely WON’T get you accepted :) - Anyone can fill out a form to enter, but please know that this MAP is not first come first serve! I’m not very picky though so I’ll probably accept most people. If I do not accept your form within a week or so, it is a polite no. - Please don't do my job for me, like sending reminders to others to get their parts done. However, if a due date has passed & I haven't updated anything, I prob forgot, so send /me/ reminders lol - DON’T ANIMATE IN BACKDROPS! - Follow the notes inside of the project! Hit see inside and look at the information there [look at code and costumes] before you fill out a form. - Please don’t use any colors not mentioned/provided in the pallet ^^ - You can claim as many parts as you want, just please don’t overwork yourself <3 - If you need to drop, just lmk, you do what’s best for you! - Blood/gore is totally allowed! I don’t really care how much you add, I’m just going to trust that you know well enough for yourself what the ST might yell at you for. - Contrary to the tradition of most MAP’s, there is no codeword. The purpose of them seems a bit odd to me, they try to make sure people pay attention to rules and all that jazz, but they just overcomplicate stuff. So as long as you read all the rules and notes, you’re fine. - You have two weeks to post a WIP, if you can’t meet that deadline, then just lmk and I’ll give you a minimum 1-week extension, more time CAN be negotiated but the amount will vary. - Once you have a WIP posted, you have two more weeks to either finish your part or find a collab, otherwise you will be kicked. If a collab is found then you don’t really have to worry about anything. - If you are collaborating with someone/are a collab, you have 2 weeks to finish and are exempt from receiving deadline extensions. The parts are short and it shouldn’t take you very long to do even a fraction of a part, if it’s taking you more than 2 weeks then something is wrong. - All parts are due by October 25th! - AMV or PMV is allowed, but AMV is encouraged! - If you finish your part but then a few weeks later, decide you’re going to leave scratch or something, PLEASE notify me so I can download your part. I’ve had people leave scratch and delete all their projects which led to me losing some pretty awesome finished MAP parts. So if you need to delete a part [or a TNE] then please lmk so I can download it, I’d hate for your work to go to waste. - YOU. DO. NOT. NEED. TO. ASK. TO. DO. A. TNE. JUST REMIX THE PROJECT FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE- - Let me know if you need or might need a collab and I can help find one for you! - I appreciate staying updated on your progress, WIP spamming is allowed! - Ask me any questions/concerns you have in the comments. Simply animate what you want, maybe include a fade in/out, and perhaps the word “Enjoy” in the Intro, but you don’t really have to do anything else :) I will have a separate audio for credits!
